Berkeley Square, a Blue Underground quilt pattern, is taught as a 3-session workshop. Although the pattern is required for the series, please try to think beyond the cover photo. Berkeley Square would go together nicely with a combination of large floral blocks, stripes, plaids, tone-on-tone colors, or even with novelty fabrics. The key to a successful quilt top is contrast. The pattern calls for fat quarters, but regular quarter-yard cuts will work. Berkeley Square does not call for a border, but one or more may be added to enlarge the quilt. Blocks are easy and require a little homework.
During the sessions, you will accomplish the following:
- Session #1 – Cut Fabric and begin piecing
- Session #2 – Complete blocks and piece quilt top. If the addition of borders is desired, you might have to do this at home.
- Session #3 – Assemble quilt top and discuss backing, batting, and binding.
Sessions meet from 1PM – 4PM on designated dates:
- Thursday, April 7, 2016
- Thursday, April 14, 2016
- Thursday, April 21, 2016
