Janome sent us an announcement today, letting us know of a new model in their line of sergers. While the model number is new, the model itself looks like nothing more than their Magnolia 7034D Serger with a facelift. The yellow floral design on the front of the 7034D has been replaced with a gray checkered design.
According to Janome’s announcement, the internet price for the 8002D serger will be the lowest price they have ever had on a serger. $50 less than the Magnolia, so maybe I’m wrong about them being the same machine, but if they are not, then this new price is very economical.
The 8002D is a 2, 3, and 4 thread convertible serger. It performs overlock stitches, as well as rolled hems. Differential feed, adjustable stitch length, snap-on presser feet, adjustable foot pressure, and lay-in style thread tension dials give this serger the basic features you would expect in a good entry level serger. If you’d like to see this serger in action, come in to Temecula Valley Sewing Center, and we’ll show you why the 8002D might be the right choice for you!
