When we see a new embroidery machine released, we hold our breath for just a minute to see what the manufacturer will include in the purchase price of the machine. Janome never disappoints. I have already mentioned the twenty (20) feet included with the new 12000. Today I would like to mention the new embroidery hoops that are included with the 12000.
Janome has always provided the main hoops with their top of the line machines. The hoops for the 12000 have been refashioned and made much sturdier than before. Not that there was anything wrong or flimsy with the hoops for the other machines, but I think Janome simply felt it was important to engineer the sturdiest tools possible for the new 12000.
There are four hoops available for the new Janome 12000 – the small (free arm) hoop, the medium hoop, the large square hoop, and the extra large rectangle hoop. All four hoops are included as standard items with the Janome 12000.
Since we, here in the USA, typically refer to sizes of hoops in terms of embroiderable area, I will list these sizes for you The list will be in U.S. inches, and if time permits, I will edit this blog post to include the metric sizes later.
- Small Hoop – 2 inches by 4 inches
- Medium Hoop – roughly 5.5 inches by 5.5 inches
- Large Hoop – 9 inches by 9 inches
- Extra Large Hoop – 9 inches by nearly 12 inches
Because of the increased sizes of the hoops and the increased size of the arm of the machine, Janome has also included extra clips to fasten to the hoops to keep your project(s) secure.
