About 6 months ago Janome introduced the 3160QDC, a sewing machine that has been very popular, and has even won a 2010 Good Design Award!
The Good Design Awards are a comphrehensive program for the evaluation and encouragement of design organized by the Japan Industrial Design Promotion Organization (JIDPO). Japan’s Ministry of International Trade and Industry (the current Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry) established the award’s parent organization, the Good Design Products Selection System (commonly known as the G Mark system), in 1957 with the objective of selecting and publicizing “Good design to raise the standard of living and spur industrial development and export trade by enhancing product quality”. Since then, approximately 35,000 Good Design Awards have been given to outstanding designs in the pursuit of prosperous lives and industrial development.
Today, JIDPO receives approximately 3,000 submissions from more than 1,000 companies and designers every year and Good Design Award winning items can promote the achievement by attaching a “G Mark”. Much of the Japanese public now recognizes the Good Design Awards, and many companies and designers from Japan and neighboring countries participate in the competition.
This award is a very huge honor for Janome and the 3160QDC. For more information, please see Janome’s press release here: http://content.janome.com/index.cfm/AboutJanome/InTheNews?NID=261
To celebrate Janome’s achievement and success, Temecula Valley Sewing Center is going to offer the 3160QDC at 30% off suggested retail, but only until November 6, 2010. Come in for a demonstration, and let us show you why this is an award winning sewing machine.
